Coaching
We link our coaching programs to clear results to ensure you are achieving the objectives you seek.

  • Do you want to make decisions quickly, with confidence, assertiveness, without fear or hesitation?
  • Would you prefer to face conflicts head on, instead of running from them? Do you want to seize these situations as opportunities to move your team to a deeper level of trust and collaboration?
  • Are you interested in finding your unique leadership style, one that comes easily and inspires others to achieve extraordinary results?
  • What if you had ways to understand and anticipate problems within your team before they arose?
  • Would you like your team to take more ownership of their roles to enable you to focus on the big picture and the strategic issues?

If these questions sound like some of the challenges you are facing, consider our coaching services, to achieve the results you want.

In order to create impact as a leader, you are probably looking to:

  • Establish a flexible communication style to better influence peers, superiors, subordinates. We typically assume that communication is "one size fits all". However, having the ability to flex our communication style to our audience, with a particular awareness of our listener, helps us convey our messages with more clarity and power.
  • Prioritize and delegate to manage your time more effectively. If you are like most leaders out there, your current responsibilities probably keep you very busy – "insanely busy." It is easy to maintain a frenetic pace and not realize you are spreading yourself too thin. Learning how to manage our time, responsibilities, resources with intention makes us effective leaders.
  • Develop high-performing teams who want to take ownership of their roles. Teams tend to raise their performance levels when members become interdependent and mutually accountable to each other. They will also be inclined to being proactive in their roles when they feel they are actively contributing to the company's future.
  • Handle crises situations. A crisis is the opportunity for leaders to step up to the plate and change the situation. Crises create a lot of uncertainty for individuals, often impacting productivity and results. Successful leaders must know how to generate employee creativity and initiative to enable the organization to emerge from crises situations.
  • Develop a 90-day plan to maximize the chances of success in a new role. Very often when we step into a new role, we dive in, head first, without considering the requirements linked to the new function. We continue with a "business as usual" approach, deploying the same skills that brought us success in our previous role. But more often than not, what got us the new role, or promotion, is not what will bring us success in our new role.
  • Juggle work and life in a way that ensures a productive work and life style. The reality of being a leader is of being constantly pulled in many different directions. Not addressing this dispersion of energy, may result in getting very little accomplished due to a lack of focus and high levels of stress. It is very common for leaders to overstretch themselves resulting in a counterproductive impact on their everyday lives.

Here are some benefits that you can achieve through coaching:

  • Make yourself a priority. Take time out of your every day routine to step back, get more clarity, and reflect on your role as a leader.
  • Question your existing assumptions and paradigms. Albert Einstein described the rule of insanity as : "Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Is it time for you to challenge the status quo?
  • Identify and build on your natural strengths. Individuals typically try to improve their performance by "fixing" their weaknesses. However, building on our strengths is what helps us achieve greater results.
  • Take more risks to achieve the results you want. In order to achieve better results, it is sometimes necessary to take some degree of risk. However, taking more risks can sometimes be a very daunting proposal.
  • Develop accountability to keep you focused on the goals you aspire to achieve. When we experiment with new behaviors, the temptation is to revert back to our comfortable, old behaviors after some time. New behaviors will only yield results if they are repeated, until they form part of our natural style.
  • Get you out of a state of inertia and into action. Sometimes we are not fully satisfied with our current situation. However, we may find it difficult to step out of our comfort zones, which feels safe and secure. We must start taking steps to get ourselves into action in order to alter our current situation.

The role of the coach

  • Catalyzing change – A coach connects with you in a way that motivates, inspires, and moves you to make significant changes in your personal and professional life.
  • Focusing on the essence – A coach helps you define your true goals and identify your values, strengths, priorities, potential obstacles, and action steps.
  • Exchanging without bias – A coach acts as a neutral sounding board, who will not bring any bias into the coaching relationship.
  • Challenging the status quo – A coach will question your blind spots and limiting beliefs to unveil new possibilities.
  • Provoking reflection – A coach asks challenging forward moving questions to create shifts in your thinking and encourage experimenting with new behaviors.
  • Providing direct feedback – A coach will say things as he sees them in order to help coachees develop a deeper awareness about their actions and behaviors.

How coaching works

The work one does with a coach represents the building blocks for a lifelong journey of personal development. An initial coaching partnership typically runs for 6-9 months, and can last several years. Sessions are scheduled 2-3 times a month and are 45-60 mins long. Sessions can be held by phone or in person.

What happens during a coaching session?

The objectives of each coaching program are set by the coachees, their superior, and/or Human Resources if appropriate. These objectives are reviewed on a regular basis to ensure that results are being achieved.

We offer optional personal assessment tools to enable clients to develop a deeper self-awareness:

  • 360 Degree feedback – A multi-rater, performance development instrument used to collect feedback on an individual's behavior from his peers, managers, direct reports, and other internal and external contacts. 360 Degree feedback can 1. help managers identify their strengths and opportunities for improvement 2. increase the effectiveness of a team 3. prepare high performers for promotions.
  • DISC (Dominance, Influencing, Steadiness, Compliance) – The DISC assessment captures how we act – our behaviour and emotions in a specific environment. It reflects one's behavioural style. DISC can be used in 1. team building 2. communication 3. leadership or management development 4. customer satisfaction, 5. sales training 6. conflict resolution 7. performance appraisals 8. strategic planning
  • PCSI (Personal Coaching Style Inventory) – The PCSI is intended to provide a snapshot of how people give and receive feedback, communications, and coaching on a regular basis. Understanding the four profiles and how to flex one's own style, can increase personal effectiveness. PCSI can be used to 1. help individuals interact more easily with each other 2. eliminate miscommunications 3. provide feedback efficiently 4. enhance team communication

Structure of a coaching session

  1. At the beginning of each session, the coachee defines the desired focus and agenda of session (objectives, targets, vision).
  2. The coach listens with intention and asks challenging questions to enable the coachee to identify their strengths and resources to help them move towards their goals and stretch their thinking to discover new solutions, whilst removing any obstacles and limiting beliefs.
  3. Together, the coach and the coachee establish a personalized strategy and action plan. Each session ends with an agreement between coachee and coach regarding action steps for the coachee.
  4. Between sessions, coachees will typically experience insights, breakthroughs, shifts and continued personal growth.

What we expect from our clients

  • To be curious to take risks and step outside of their comfort zone to achieve their goals.
  • To be willing to evolve and adapt.
  • To be open to valuing and exploring their greatest resource: themselves.
  • To be completely honest and truthful during coaching sessions.
  • To dare to challenge their limiting beliefs and try different ways of doing things.
  • To maintain high personal standards and give nothing but their best.
  • To be fully committed to bridging the gap between where they are now and where they want to be.
